Obama Scores Big at Democratic Debate in Austin, Texas

Senator Obama had a tremendous showing tonight as he squared off against his opponent in the CNN/Univision Democratic debate in Austin, Texas. The candidates debated everything from Raul Castro to the economy. Senator Obama was strong on the issues providing more nuanced and detailed answers than in previous debates. He was effective in driving home the message that he is not the only candidate left in the race with strong policy positions. However, he showed that he is the candidate that will be most effective at building a bipartisan coalition to pass legislation and govern. He also mentioned Latin America and demonstrated a genuine interest in providing solutions to the challenges that the region faces. In the end, Senator Obama came across as presidential and showed why he is going to win the Democratic nomination and later, the White House.
