State Director Positions Available with Latinos for Obama

As you know, Latinos for Obama is part of the Democratic National Committee Hispanic Caucus' CasaBlanca Project which is the first national program to recruit Latino Democratic organizers and volunteers throughout the entire country to reach out to disengaged members of the Latino community to support their preferred Democratic presidential campaign.

Latinos for Obama serves as a resource for Latinos all over the country to provide them the information, contacts and tools necessary to help them get involved with the campaign.

We have a national database of close to 600 (and growing every day) Latino/a organizers and activists who continue to play a crucial role in Senator Obama's Latino outreach by participating in various GOTV activities all over the country including canvassing and phone banking.

Given our national reach and the unprecedented amount of interest in Latino outreach for Senator Obama, we are actively recruiting for State Director positions. More information is provided below.

***Latinos for Obama – State Director Positions***

We are looking for energized and committed volunteers like yourself with the desire to help Senator Obama win the Latino vote in remaining primaries and hopefully the general election. Please contact National Coordinator Luis Maes if you are interested in becoming a State Director for Latinos for Obama. As State Director, you would be responsible for coordinating phone banking, canvassing and other GOTV events in your states. This is an opportunity to play a major role in electing Senator Barack Obama the next President of the United States. The Latino vote is pivotal and Senator Obama needs your help. The exact duties would entail the following:

*State Director*

- Take initial phone calls from new organizers

- Reply to e-mails of new sign-ups in your state

- Help respond to media inquiries or appoint a State Press Secretary.

- Help plan local events in your neighborhood or in your city

- Obtain details about becoming a delegate for your candidate in your
state

- Obtain details about the primary/caucus (locations/rules) in your state

- Recruit organizers everywhere you go (events, birthday parties, during your commute, trips, etc.)

- Have business cards with the campaign title, your name and contact information ($5-10)

- We will provide you with a Latinos For Obama email address so you don't have to use your own
