Hi all!

For those of you who have not yet made my acquaintance, I used to work at the Northeast Field Desk for the Barack Obama campaign over the summer. As some of you may know, I made my exit from the campaign due to a previous commitment I had made with another job. However I couldn't stay away from the movement for too long so a couple months ago I returned to the campaign and now continue to work with Ray Rivera. Looking at how all of our contests in the northeast have gone so far I'm pleased to say that I couldn't be prouder of how far we have come since June in what has seemed like an uphill battle.

We are currently stationed in Texas and as most media outlets are predicting, the state of the nomination depends on our performance out here. The Clintons have been immersed in Texas politics since the George McGovern campaign back in the 1970s so our main challenge our here is simply name recognition. That is what I am asking all of you guys to consider helping out by being an Out of State Obama Precinct Captain for South Texas, the region in which I am organizing and Ray Rivera is heading up.

To be an Out of State Obama Precinct Captain all you will need is a computer. What being an Out of State Obama Precinct Captain entails is using an online tool on the Obama website that will generate Texas residents' contact information in addition to the script you will be using when you call them. You will use this to call folks and let them know about the caucus and find out whether or not they are supporters. The reason we are in such urgent need for you to do this is because the primary is less than three weeks away and the vast majority of folks out here have never once been contacted by the campaign. If you choose to help out in this way, your ultimate goal in being an Out of State Obama Precinct Captain would be to find an enthusiastic supporter in the precinct in which you're covering to take over your responsibilities as Precinct Captain. In doing this you are helping us to quickly build up a supporter base out here and transition Obama Precinct Captain responsibilities to a localized level.
